THE BEEKEEPER

£1,800.00

Original painting by TABBY BOOTH
From the Folk of the Earth Collection

Waxed acrylic sgraffito on wood in a reclaimed vintage frame

Framed size 44 x 41 cm

Signed, 2026

Tabby has created the Folk of the Earth series exclusively for ARTI. Rooted in land, labour and inherited tradition, these works draw on the steady rhythm of purposeful, everyday life. The focus is on archetypal figures, going about their daily tasks in time with the seasons.

Tabby’s work is defined by a great sense of playfulness, with shifts in proportion and perspective. Figures appear unexpectedly small or large, while animals hold space with a quiet authority.

“I’m all about life and character, and that’s what folk art always has,” she says. “I’m drawn to things that are a bit wonky and weird. Work that feels instinctive, made outside the usual structures. That’s where it becomes interesting.”

Tabby Booth studied illustration at Central St Martins and is the co-founder of Cygnets Art School and Sailors Jail Gallery in Cornwall. She lives near Penzance with her husband Hessy and their two children Rudy and Ziggy.

A note on vintage frames: these can be weathered, chipped and cracked. We see this as an advantage and hope you will too. Please study the photos carefully.
