William Brock was born in St John's Wood, London, one of the several children of sculptor Sir Thomas Brock, famous for his statue of Queen Victoria in front of Buckingham Palace. William studied at the Royal Academy Schools and at the École Des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was a landscape and animal painter who exhibited at the Royal Academy also at the Paris Salon, the Fine Art Society and Walker Art Gallery. William Fought in the First World War as a captain in the French Army and later in the Belgian Army.
